As part of London Craft Week we hosted a special exhibition of Paul O'Farrell's wonderful corsets and chest plates in the showroom. And on Thursday 15th May we threw a spectacular party to celebrate art, circularity, craft and colour.
Paul has worked his magic with Furious Goose off-cuts and remnants to create two amazing pieces – one based on our Dragon Collection and one created from the Sugar Skulls collection.

Also on display were other chest pieces made with Piñatex – the incredible vegan leather made from pineapple waste. This really IS vegan leather worth looking into. Not plastic as most so called vegan leather is.
As an independent brand we are always looking for ways to reduce our climate impact. We print digitally so we only ever print what we need and we generate almost no waste. However to achieve the gorgeous Furious Goose quality of print we do have to test our designs. With quality comes testing and with testing comes a small amount of waste.

In all the years we've been producing silk scarves we've never thrown away any of these remnants or 'strike-offs' (as they are known in the business). Not even an inch! They may be 'waste' but they are still beautiful and it would be criminal to recycle them or throw them away.
This is where the concept of circularity comes in and we are delighted to be part of the Circular Luxury project which turns waste into wonder and helped to connect Furious Goose (the brand) with Paul (the artist) to create such spectacular pieces.
As part of the evening (well lubricated by the delicious Langlois crémant) we also previewed the exquisite new Thames Ribbons with everyone getting to style their favourite colourways. It really was an exuberant night and proves the power of colour to spread joy and break down barriers.
Here are some pictures from the wonderful evening of fun and dressing up in wearable art.
