We've teamed up with the talented Laura from LaParra Jewels (ethical jeweller and our neighbour here at Oxo Tower Wharf) to create a limited edition, solid silver scarf ring.
This very special, hand-sculpted piece is a beautiful addition to any Furious Goose silk scarf, elevating your outfit with a flash of precious metal at the neck. We recommend it for medium size scarves or neckerchiefs (65cm) but it can be worn with larger scarves.
Scarf rings make it even easier to wear a scarf, as they replaces the knot which gives you more silk to play with. Also, as a kind of ultra-deluxe toggle, it allows you to tighten or loosen your neckerchief at will.
The fluid and organic forms are Laura's speciality and make this piece look like it was made by Mother Nature herself, rather than human hands.
The ring comes in two sizes 'large' for scarves and neckerchiefs and a smaller one for the pocket square sized scarf.
How to style the scarf ring
Scarf rings are very versatile and are great fun to play with. Here are our styling suggestions...
Medium scarves: For a medium scarf you can roll the scarf into a tube and place the two ends inside one another and then gently pop through the larger hole first and then out the other side through the smaller hole. This gives the ring a better grip. Then you can pull through a short distance and place the scarf over your head and then tighten the ring like a toggle.
Large scarves: Fold the scarf into a triangle and throw round the neck with the point at your front. Loop the two ends behind your head and bring to the front where you can place them one inside the other and pop them through the ring. Make sure you have the ring orientated with the larger hole upwards and the smaller hole at the bottom for grip. Then adjust for tightness.
Larger Twillies or Ribbon Scarves: Simply put the two ends together and feed through the ring with the larger hole at the top and the smaller at the bottom for grip. If you feel the ring is too loose tie a jaunty bow underneath the ring.
Please take care when using a scarf ring. Be gentle! And never force the fabric through if the scarf is too big.
