An elegant swirling printed silk ribbon, or as they're known a twilly. The waves pattern in a calming palette of navy, antique bronze and silver is inspired by the Thames, which flows right outside the Furious Goose atelier. The mighty river is eternal yet forever changing and we speak to this in the typographic inscription 'Change Always' or 'Always Change' that nestles amongst the waves.

For the Thames Ribbon Twilly Scarves we have used our flowing and curvaceous Thames No. 1 pattern to create a symmetrical design. You'll notice letters scattered throughout the design. These are inspired by the story of the lost typeface of the Thames which is something of a legend among the riverine people of London. Designer TJ Cobden-Sanderson threw all the letters of his beautiful typeface 'Dove' into the waters in a period of madness after his business ran into difficulties. It lay hidden for nearly 100 years before being rediscovered by Robert Green, a graphic designer and typographer. He cleverly recreated it digitally and that is the typeface we use on these exquisite silks. Read more about this fascinating story here.

The Thames collection is inspired by the great river that ebbs and flows outside the Furious Goose showroom here in London. It will be a meandering collection with various tributaries of inspiration flowing together into a body of work – a bit like the river itself. 

The colours in this scarf are actually taken from a photograph of the river itself. Amazingly it was a very bright sunny day and warm. The colours have come out less blue and sunny than you would imagine. It's the difference between what the eye perceives and a digital photographic image. In the end we cheated a bit and boosted the saturation to make the scarf a little more cheerful!

We aim to wrap, pack and dispatch every order within 2 working days.

UK delivery is free on orders over £60. Delivery charges for orders below £60 are calculated and shown at checkout. Orders are sent using a tracked delivery service.

During the summer months we occasionally operate a slightly reduced fulfilment schedule due to staff holidays. If you need your order for a particular date, please contact us before ordering and we'll do our best to help.

International Delivery

We ship Furious Goose products worldwide using tracked international delivery services.

Shipping costs are calculated for your destination and shown at checkout. International delivery is free on orders over £250.

For many international destinations, including the European Union, taxes and duties are calculated and included when you order. The total shown at checkout is the total you pay, with no unexpected customs charges on delivery.

Available delivery services and estimated delivery times are shown at checkout and vary according to destination.

European Union

Ordering Furious Goose from the EU is now much simpler.

Prices are shown in your local currency where available, and applicable taxes and duties are included in the price at checkout. Your order is sent using a tracked international service, with no additional customs charges to pay on delivery.

International delivery is free when you spend over £250.

Silk, wool and cashmere scarves are not considered risky products but we will be compiling some safety advice regarding fire risk etc.

We will be adding QR codes to relevant pages on our website to our packaging. This will ensure that consumers have access to all necessary details to use our products safely.

3. Traceability: Manufacturers must ensure that their products can be traced throughout the supply chain. This includes maintaining records of product origin and distribution. Our products are all made in the UK but we will will nonetheless be adopting batch numbers on our labels to improve traceability.
