Taking the Ruff with the smooth

Taking the Ruff with the smooth

Ruffs, those flashy and extravagant collars worn by fashionable men in the 16th and 17th centuries, are making a comeback.

We are recycling damaged silk scarves into new works of art with the help of the tailor to the stars Philip J Shaw.

Once a symbol of wealth and status, we have resurrected the ruff as a bold statement piece for partying in. They help you keep your head while all around others are losing theirs. The intricate and ornate collar, made from layers of stiffened  fabric, has been updated for the 21st century with contemporary materials and designs. Ours are made with pure silk twill printed with psychedelic colour and pattern on a stiffened fabric base.

Embrace the ruff. This is more than a luxury accessory. It is a very special, hand-made piece of wearable art. And each collar is totally unique as the scarf and placement vary with each commission. No two are alike.

We can even adapt how wide the ruff is from day-ruff to supersized, flamboyant evening-ruff. And of course we will tailor it to fit your neck size comfortably.

With its bold, attention-grabbing design, it's sure to turn heads wherever it's worn. So if you're looking to make a statement and stand out from the crowd, consider incorporating a ruff into your wardrobe. Just be prepared for the inevitable compliments and envious glances that will come your way.
